Newark Handgun Possession ChargesNewark New Jersey police arrested an Irvington NJ man accused of possessing an illegal handgun.

According to Newark law enforcement, the 43-year-old suspect was behind the wheel of a gold 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and driving on Elizabeth Avenue, near Weequahic Park in Newark, NJ. Two Essex County Sheriff’s officers reportedly observed the suspect speeding in his car, so they pulled him over.

After initiating the traffic stop, the police officers approached the vehicle and asked the suspect to provide them with his driver’s license. At that point, the suspect reportedly gave the officers a fake ID.

The Newark police officers also reportedly saw a handgun in the vehicle glove box. The gun allegedly fell out of the glove box when the suspect tried to retrieve his proof of insurance and registration. According to authorities, the gun was a loaded .45-caliber Glock handgun.

The suspect, who lives in Irvington, was arrested. He has subsequently charged with several weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon and a certain persons offense for being a felon illegally in possession of a gun.

Additionally, the suspect was charged with providing false information to police and possession of a fraudulent driver’s license.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was moved to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail on a $75K bond amount.

The 31-year-old victim came to the apartment to get his car keys. According to law enforcement, the victim needed to get the car keys because he was trying to help the other residents move away from the suspect. At this time, authorities are treating the incident as domestic violence related.

When the victim walked inside the apartment, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him a number of times. The victim got away by using a shovel to fight off the suspect.

Afterwards, the victim called Newark police. When Newark police officers arrived at the residence, they found the suspect inside the apartment. He was placed under arrest without further incident.

Meanwhile, the victim was transported to University Hospital, where he received medical treatment for his stab wound injuries. Doctors later listed the victim in critical condition.

The 34-year-old suspect faces several criminal charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The police officer who was involved in the shooting was also taken to University Hospital for observation. He was later released from the hospital without injuries.

The police officer has worked with the Newark police force for 10 years. He was commended by the Newark public safety director and the president of the Newark chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police.

The shooting suspect will probably be charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

The second homicide happened only a few hours later. The 23-year-old homicide victim, a man from Newark NJ, was shot and killed inside an apartment building located on Irvine Turner Boulevard.

The third and fourth homicides were part of a double homicide. A 22-year-old male and a 23-year-old male were both shot and killed as they sat inside a gray Honda Accord that was parked on New Street in Newark, NJ.

Newark NJ Heroin Distribution ChargesNewark NJ police officers recently arrested a local man accused of attacking undercover cops in the middle of a drug bust.

According to Newark authorities, two detectives with the Essex County Sheriff’s Office were on patrol in the area of Broadway and Oriental Place in Newark in response to multiple complaints about drug activity in the neighborhood.

The sheriff’s officers allegedly spotted the suspect conducting a drug deal and selling heroin to a woman. Police later said that the suspect’s drug dealing setup was a “mobile drug bazaar” because he reportedly conducted business out of his vehicle, a 2003 Acura TL.

When police approached the suspect, he allegedly became angry and began to punch, elbow, and kick the detectives. Additionally, the suspect spit at the cops.

Police officers managed to subdue the suspect and place him under arrest.

During a subsequent search of the suspect and his vehicle, police reportedly discovered 164 envelopes of heroin, 28 vials of crack cocaine, and 26 Xanax tablets.

The suspect faces criminal charges for several drug offenses, including distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, and prescription drug distribution.

The suspect has also been charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.

The woman who was allegedly caught attempting to buy heroin from the suspect was also placed under arrest. She faces criminal charges for possession of heroin. According to authorities, the woman lives in Belleville, New Jersey.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the drug distribution suspect was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. He was being held at the jail on a $150,000 cash bond.

The Newark police officer got into his car and followed the suspect as he drove from Belleville to Newark, New Jersey. When the suspect passed through Newark, he was stopped by police and arrested.

When Newark police searched the suspect’s car, they allegedly found a 40-caliber handgun, a knife, a police radio, and several other police-related items.

The suspect was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer. He was also issued citation for numerous traffic offenses.

It’s also possible that the suspect could be charged with additional crimes, including weapons offenses.

While announcing the charges against the suspect, the acting public safety director for Newark NJ praised the off-duty cop who helped to make the arrest. The director said that the Newark police officer made sure that law enforcement was able to remove “another gun from our streets which may have otherwise been used in criminal activity.”
