Newark Aggravated Assault LawyersNewark NJ police arrested a man accused of seriously injuring another person in a stabbing incident.

According to authorities, the violent incident went down just before 3:00 a.m. at an apartment on Osborne Terrace in Newark, New Jersey. The suspect is believed to live in the apartment with his two children and the children’s mother.

The 31-year-old victim came to the apartment to get his car keys. According to law enforcement, the victim needed to get the car keys because he was trying to help the other residents move away from the suspect. At this time, authorities are treating the incident as domestic violence related.

When the victim walked inside the apartment, the suspect allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him a number of times. The victim got away by using a shovel to fight off the suspect.

Afterwards, the victim called Newark police. When Newark police officers arrived at the residence, they found the suspect inside the apartment. He was placed under arrest without further incident.

Meanwhile, the victim was transported to University Hospital, where he received medical treatment for his stab wound injuries. Doctors later listed the victim in critical condition.

The 34-year-old suspect faces several criminal charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
