A Newark New Jersey man was recently placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence assault after he reportedly attacked a woman at a local home.
The suspect, a 60-year-old male, reportedly resides in Newark NJ and works for a nonprofit organization in the city. According to authorities, the suspect became violent and assaulted the victim at a residence in Newark’s South Ward.
The Newark Police Department got a call about a domestic violence incident around 1:00 a.m. and dispatched cops to the scene. When Newark NJ police officers arrived at the residence, they reportedly saw that the victim was suffering minor physical injuries. She was briefly treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to nearby University Hospital.
Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested by law enforcement and charged with aggravated assault. He was then transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark NJ, where he was being held in advance of a bail hearing.
