Newark NJ Domestic Violence SuspectNewark New Jersey police are trying to locate an Irvington NJ man accused of firing gunshots at two women in what has been classified as a domestic violence incident.

The domestic dispute allegedly occurred on Hunterdon Avenue a short time before 9:30 p.m. The suspect reportedly became involved in a verbal altercation with the two victims. The verbal dispute escalated and became physical, allegedly culminating in the suspect using a handgun to fire multiple gunshots at the women.

The suspect is a 26-year-old Irvington man. He allegedly ran away after the shooting and was gone when Newark cops arrived at the scene.

The good news is that neither of the victims suffered injuries as a result of the shooting incident.

Newark detectives investigated the shooting and classified it as a “domestic violence incident.” A warrant has been issued for the suspect’s arrest. He will face numerous criminal charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The Newark Police Department is currently asking for the public’s assistance as they try to locate the suspect. The police department issued a press release indicating that law enforcement is hopeful that they will be able to quickly find the suspect and remove him from the streets before he hurts anyone.
