Newark New Jersey Drug Distribution ChargesTwo Newark NJ men recently pleaded guilty to distributing illegal drugs in the city.

According to federal officials, the suspects are members of the Grape Street Crips, a major street gang based out of Los Angeles. The suspects, two males aged 26 and 28, allegedly conspired with other gang members to distribute heroin and cocaine throughout Newark. The illegal activity is said to have taken place between December 2014 and May 2015.

Federal, New Jersey, and Newark law enforcement agencies conducted a lengthy investigation into the drug distribution ring.

Once investigators obtained enough evidence, police arrested 50 alleged gang members. Among those placed under arrest were the two suspects.

The 28-year-old suspect recently made an appearance in U.S. District Court in Newark and entered a guilty plea to charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin in Newark, New Jersey.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old suspect appeared in federal court and entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine. The suspect also pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a handgun because police reportedly observed him trying to hide a .280-caliber pistol when he was arrested at a home in Newark.

The 28-year-old suspect’s plea agreement calls for him to be sentenced to up to 20 years in federal prison and fined as much as $1 million. The other suspect faces a sentence of between 5 and 40 years in federal prison, as well as a fine of $5 million.

Both suspects will make appearances in Newark federal court in February 2016 so that they can be officially sentenced.

Newark New Jersey Handgun AttorneysNewark New Jersey police recently busted a man accused of possessing a loaded weapon and drugs inside a parked car.

According to law enforcement, members of the Newark Violence Reduction Initiative were on patrol in the city when they came across a vehicle that was illegally parked in a handicapped spot near West Bigelow Street and Chadwick Avenue.

The police officers were in unmarked patrol cars as they moved toward the suspect’s vehicle. At some point, the officers observed someone speaking with the suspect, who was inside the car.

As the officers approached the vehicle, they reportedly saw the suspect handling an object inside the car. Police also allegedly detected the smell of marijuana coming from the car.

Police officers ordered the suspect to show his hands and get out of the motor vehicle.

Sometime later, Newark police officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found a loaded .380-caliber Smith & Wesson automatic handgun, as well as multiple bags of marijuana. Additionally, police also allegedly discovered an open container of alcohol inside the car.

The suspect was arrested and charged with several crimes, including unlawful possession of a weapon and simple possession of marijuana. The suspect was also issued several traffic citations.

Newark New Jersey Murder SuspectTwo men were recently charged with murder for the fatal shooting of a person outside a Newark NJ residence.

The homicide occurred on July 22. The 37-year-old victim was shot and killed as he walked toward a car parked outside his house, which is located on the 200 block of South 9th Street in Newark, New Jersey. The victim was in the process of taking his three young kids to daycare during the morning hours.

According to authorities, the suspects were waited outside when the suspect exited his residence.

Officials said that the victim’s three kids were present for the killing. One of the suspects reportedly instructed the children to return to the house before the shooting. When the kids remained with their father outside the residence, the suspects allegedly fired multiple gunshots and killed the victim.

Newark NJ police officers and first-responders were sent to the scene, where they found the victim lying on the street. The victim was taken to nearby University Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead a short time later.

The two suspects live in Newark and Jersey City. They were linked to the murder after a joint investigation by the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Task Force.

Both suspects were charged with first degree murder, as well as robbery and weapons offenses.

If the suspects are ultimately convicted of the most serious charge of felony murder, they could face the most severe penalties in the NJ Criminal Code. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is classified as a first degree crime and carries a potential life sentence in New Jersey State Prison.

One of the suspects remains at large. The other suspect was arrested and later remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ.

Newark New Jersey Homicide SuspectPolice recently arrested three men in connection with the fatal shooting of a Newark man outside a strip club in Belleville, New Jersey.

According to authorities, the 28-year-old victim was shot and killed while standing in the street outside Wet, a gentlemen’s club located in Belleville, NJ. The homicide occurred during the early morning hours on October 8.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force conducted an investigation and spoke to witnesses at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the victim was involved in a dispute with three men outside the club. At some point, the altercation reportedly became violent and four gunshots were fired.

Now law enforcement has arrested the three people who allegedly got into the physical altercation with the suspect before the shooting. The men who were arrested all hail from Elizabeth, New Jersey. The three suspects have been charged with murder, as well as multiple weapons offenses.

Two of the suspects are currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark NJ. The men have bail amounts of $750,000 each. The other suspect was arrested in Miami, so he is currently awaiting extradition to New Jersey.

Newark NJ Illegal Handgun AttorneysNewark New Jersey police arrested two men on weapons offenses in separate incidents on city streets.

The first incident happened shortly before 11:30 p.m. According to law enforcement, members of the Newark Violence Reduction Initiative were patrolling the area near Vermont Avenue and 18th Avenue in Newark when they saw two suspicious individuals. The initiative is a law enforcement task force including personnel from NJ State Police.

As soon as the two suspects noticed the police officers, one of the men allegedly began to walk away. The man, a 30-year-old from Newark NJ, reportedly adjusted a gun in his waistband as he moved away from the officers.

A couple of police officers exited their patrol car, allegedly causing the suspect to throw the handgun and try to climb a nearby fence. A detective quickly apprehended the man and arrested him.

Police officers were later able to recover the handgun, which is allegedly a defaced 9mm. According to authorities, the handgun was loaded.

The suspect was charged with a number of crimes, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a defaced weapon, and possession of hollow-point bullets.

The suspect is reportedly in the Supervision Appearance Program, which is part of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) program. As a result, he could face deportation if he is convicted of a felony.

Approximately two hours after arresting the first suspect, Newark police officers arrested another individual. The suspect was reportedly stopped from committing a burglary.

The Newark Police Department got a call about a burglary in progress in the 90s block of First Street in Newark, NJ. When police officers showed up at the scene, they allegedly discovered a man matching the burglar’s description.

As police officers moved toward the suspect, he reportedly removed a gun from his waistband and tossed it onto a roof. Police were able to quickly capture the suspect. Police officers also allegedly recovered the .25-caliber handgun.

The suspect was subsequently charged with burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Newark New Jersey Transit RobberyNewark NJ police are investigating the alleged armed robbery of a student traveling on a New Jersey Transit bus.

According to authorities, the victim was riding on a bus that was headed west on 16th Avenue in Newark, NJ. At some point during the bus ride, the suspect reportedly held a silver handgun to the victim’s head and instructed him to hand over his cell phone.

The victim, who was sitting directly in front of the suspect, gave the suspect his phone.

At some point during the theft incident, a second suspect reportedly rifled through the victim’s pockets and took his wallet. The victim later informed police officers that his wallet had $12 in cash, a credit card, and multiple identification cards.

After allegedly committing the robbery, both suspects exited the bus and fled the area on foot.

The victim, a 19-year-old student from Kean University, was able to avoid any serious injuries during the theft.

The Newark Police Department is conducting an investigation into the robbery. Investigators have yet to identify the suspects.

If the suspects are identified and captured, they would be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, anyone who commits a robbery with a deadly weapon such a handgun or knife can be charged with a first degree crime. A conviction on first degree armed robbery charges result in a sentence of 10-20 years in NJ State Prison.

Suspect in Newark IHOP Murder CaseThe jury selection process has begun in the trial of a Newark NJ man facing first degree murder charges.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the 28-year-old suspect committed the homicide at an IHOP restaurant located on Bergen Street in Newark, New Jersey.

The incident happened during the early morning hours on March 23, 2013.

The shooting left the 30-year-old IHOP manager with gunshot wounds that ended up being fatal. The victim lived in Middlesex Borough, NJ.

The shooting also resulted in two other people sustaining serious injuries.

The fatal shooting was spurred by an altercation between two groups of people at the IHOP restaurant. One group allegedly got involved in a dispute with another group, with the second group consisting entirely of females. At some point during the verbal altercation, a few individuals in each group got physical and started to fight.

The suspect was reportedly wearing a hoodie when he entered the IHOP and confronted a man in one of the groups.

The IHOP manager attempted to intervene and help other customers exit the restaurant, but he was reportedly shot by the suspect. Witnesses said that the victim, a Senegalese immigrant, was caught in the gunfire. He sustained a bullet wound to the head as a result of the gunshots.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and took the victim to nearby University Hospital. Tragically, doctors could not save the victim; he was pronounced dead at the hospital just a few hours after the shooting.

Newark police investigated the incident and found surveillance camera footage that reportedly showed the suspect running from the scene.

The suspect was placed under arrest in 2014 and charged with multiple crimes, including murder, attempted murder, witness tampering, and various weapons offenses.

Now attorneys on both sides have started selecting jurors in the murder trial. The trial is slated to occur in Essex County Superior Court in Newark, New Jersey.

During the trial, the suspect will be held at the Essex County Correctional Facility on a massive $1 million bail amount.

As the victim walked into the road, he was fatally struck by a Toyota Corolla.

Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene a short time later, but they were unable to save the victim. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.

The Bloomfield Police Department is currently investigating the fatal crash. At this time, police have not filed any criminal charges against the driver. Police have also yet to issue any traffic tickets in the case.

The driver of the vehicle that allegedly crashed into the suspect is a 39-year-old man who lives in Bloomfield, New Jersey.

If prosecutors do eventually decide to charge the suspect with a crime like vehicular homicide or death by auto, he would be subject to severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-5, vehicular manslaughter can potentially be classified as a second degree crime. A conviction for second degree vehicular manslaughter could lead to a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

When police walked toward the group of people, they allegedly began to flee. A police officer followed the suspect and instructed her to stop running. She allegedly ignored the command and continued to run away.

At some point during the chase, the suspect reportedly threw a gun over a fence.

Police officers eventually managed to chase down the suspect. She was then arrested without further incident.

Newark NJ police subsequently performed a search of the suspect and allegedly found her with a 9mm handgun. According to officials, the handgun was loaded.

The suspect was charged with multiple weapons offenses, including unlawful possession of a weapon.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted of the most serious charge of illegal handgun possession, she would be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5(b), illegal possession of a handgun can be classified as a second degree felony and result in a sentence of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Newark Police dispatched officers to the scene after getting a call about gunshots being fired in the area. When police officers got to the residence, they discovered the victim lying in the yard. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Newark police detained and later arrested the two suspects.

One of the suspects, a 19-year-old man from Irvington, was subsequently charged with murder. The other suspect, a 21-year-old man from Newark NJ, was charged with several weapons offenses.

If the Irvington suspect is convicted of murder, he would be subject to severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is classified as a first degree felony. A conviction for murder could lead to life imprisonment in NJ State Prison, with a minimum term of imprisonment of 30 years.

After being arrested and processed, both suspects were transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. The suspect charged with homicide was being held at the jail on a $750,000 bail amount; the other suspect was being held in lieu of a bail amount of $75,000.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force is continuing to investigate the homicide.
