According to authorities, the suspect conspired to steal more than one hundred victims’ identities and then used those stolen identities to collect $1.1 million in federal income tax returns. The massive fraud reportedly went down between 2009 and 2013, with the suspect and other co-conspirators filing false tax refund applications. The main suspect reportedly fabricated information on the tax returns so that they would prompt the government to issue refunds.

Special agents with the IRS-Criminal Investigation unit investigated the suspect and determined that she had committed fraud on a massive scale.

Law enforcement placed the suspect under arrest in February 2015. She was subsequently charged with conspiracy to commit embezzlement and embezzlement of US property.

In September 2015, the 54-year-old suspect pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit theft of government property.

Now the suspect, who is from Orange, New Jersey, is headed to prison. She recently made an appearance in US District Court in Trenton NJ for a sentencing hearing. The judge sentenced the suspect to a term of incarceration of 21 months. If the suspect had fought the criminal charges and gone to trial, she would have faced a sentence of up to five years in federal prison.

As part of the punishment handed down by the district court judge, the suspect will also have to take part in a supervised release program once she finishes her prison sentence.

Additionally, under the terms of the plea agreement, the suspect will be required to pay back $1.1 million in restitution.

Newark New Jersey Marijuana SuspectsEssex County NJ authorities recently arrested three Newark men accused of running an illicit drug business out of a deli.

According to law enforcement, the three suspects sold drugs at a deli in Newark, NJ.

Police began an investigation into the suspects after getting a tip about drug trafficking at the Fairmount Deli on 16th Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. An Essex County Sheriff’s Office task force investigated the allegations and eventually obtained a search warrant for the business. The task force included detectives from several agencies, including the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, the Newark Police Department, the Irvington Police Department, and the Bloomfield Police Department.

When law enforcement searched the Newark deli, they allegedly discovered large amounts of heroin and marijuana. Detectives allegedly found 138 glassine envelopes of heroin, 18 plastic bags of marijuana, and another 146 grams of marijuana. The drugs were reportedly hidden throughout the deli.

The suspects who arrested include the deli manager and his two cousins.

The suspects face criminal charges for marijuana distribution and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspects were transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. They were being held at the jail in lieu of bail amounts that ranged from $50,000 to $75,000.

Newark New Jersey Marijuana LawyersNewark NJ police recently shut down an after-hours club and arrested three people on various charges, including drug possession.

Police made the arrests around 3:30 a.m. According to law enforcement, the Newark Police Department got a call about unlicensed alcohol sales and illegal drug activity at a club on South Orange Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. When Newark detectives arrived at the scene, they reportedly saw that alcohol was being sold to patrons despite the fact that no one at the building had a valid license to sell alcohol.

A 34-year-old East Orange NJ man was arrested because he allegedly had a small amount of marijuana.

Newark police also arrested a 36-year-old East Orange NJ man who identified himself as the party promoter and a 63-year-old East Orange man who said that he was the owner of the establishment. The arrests were made because neither suspect could provide police officers with credentials or a valid liquor license.

Newark detectives shut down the club and searched the premises, allegedly finding 210 bottles of beer, 28 liquor bottles, and 145 grams of marijuana.

The party promoter was charged with aiding and abetting an unlicensed liquor establishment, while the building owner was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol and maintaining an unlicensed liquor establishment.

Newark New Jersey Robbery SuspectNewark New Jersey police recently apprehended two men who were wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

According to authorities, the home invasion occurred at a residence located on Leslie Street in Newark, NJ.

After the theft was reported, Newark law enforcement investigated and quickly identified the two suspects as probable home invaders.

Newark detectives later got a tip about the suspects’ whereabouts. Newark NJ police then arrested the suspects on Springfield Avenue in Newark.

The suspects, a 17-year-old Newark teenager and a 46-year-old Belleville NJ male, face criminal charges for armed robbery, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

If the adult suspect is eventually convicted of armed robbery, he would be subject to severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, a person who commits a theft while using a deadly weapon like a handgun or knife can be charged with a first degree crime. A conviction on first degree armed robbery charges could lead to a sentence of 10-20 years in NJ State Prison.

Bloomfield New Jersey Heroin SuspectNewark NJ police recently seized a large amount of illicit narcotics and arrested a Bloomfield NJ man suspected of dealing drugs in Essex County, New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, the suspect ran a major drug operation throughout Essex County. When police became aware of the drug trafficking network, they started an investigation into the suspect. The agencies involved in the investigation included the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bloomfield Police Department, and the Newark Police Department.

After investigators obtained enough evidence, they executed a search warrant at the suspect’s apartment, which is located in Bloomfield, NJ.

During a subsequent search of the suspect’s home, detectives allegedly found 528 bricks of heroin, as well as more than 70 pounds of marijuana. The drugs seized by law enforcement reportedly have a street value of approximately $650,000.

Police also allegedly divorced a loaded rifle at the suspect’s residence.

The suspect, a 37-year-old male who resides in Bloomfield, New Jersey, has been charged with several drug crimes, including possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and distribution of marijuana.

Newark NJ Aggravated Assault AttorneysNewark NJ police apprehended a local man accused of shooting someone earlier this year.

According to authorities, the 25-year-old suspect used a handgun to shoot a victim along the 200 block of Roseville Avenue in Newark, NJ.

Not long after the shooting, the Newark Police Department got a call about gunshots being heard and sent officers to the scene. Newark police officers went to the area and came across the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to nearby University Hospital, where doctors treated him for his injuries.

Meanwhile, Newark detectives investigated the shooting and eventually determined the identity of the shooting suspect. Detectives with the Newark Fugitive Apprehension Team then located the suspect at a residence on Central Avenue in Newark and executed a search warrant.

The suspect, who lives in Newark, New Jersey, was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault, in addition to a weapons offense for possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted of aggravated assault, he would be subject to severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon such a handgun or knife is a third degree crime. A conviction on third degree aggravated assault charges could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was moved to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail on a $150K bail amount.

Law enforcement conducted a series of raids during the early morning hours at the tail end of a lengthy, detailed investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force. The special task force includes officers from several local police departments in Essex County, New Jersey, including Newark, Bloomfield, and Belleville.

Essex County police also reportedly seized large quantities of illicit narcotics, several motor vehicles, and nearly $500,000 in cash during the drug raids.

Police arrested a total of nine suspects. Most of the suspects are from Newark NJ, with one of the suspects residing in Bayonne, New Jersey.

The suspects face numerous criminal charges, including heroin possession, heroin distribution, cocaine possession, simple possession of marijuana, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) near a school, and money laundering.

Some of the suspects also face criminal charges for weapons offenses, like unlawful possession of a weapon, because Essex County authorities allegedly found the men in possession of illegal handguns at the time of the arrests.

Fairfield NJ Aggravated Arson LawyersPolice recently arrested a Hopatcong NJ man accused of committing arson at his father’s home in Fairfield, New Jersey.

The arson incident occurred around midnight at a home on Oak Road in Fairfield, NJ. According to law enforcement, the 45-year-old suspect used a gas stove at the residence to attempt to trigger an explosion.

The Fairfield Police Department got a 911 call from the suspect’s brother, who said that the suspect had admitted responsibility for the intentional fire. When firefighters and police officers arrived at the residence, they saw smoke but no fire.

Investigators later determined that someone had intentionally set the gas stove to explode.
Police later arrested the suspect and charged him with aggravated arson, a felony-level offense that carries significant prison time.

The suspect allegedly wanted to cause the explosion because he was “distraught over some personal issues,” which may have included a fight with his brother.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire. Additionally, the property damage was minimal because the fire subsided quickly.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was taken to the East Orange General Hospital for a mental evaluation.

The suspect was later released on his own recognizance, with a pending court date in Essex County Superior Court in Newark, New Jersey.

Newark NJ Cocaine Possession LawyersTwo men were apprehended by police after allegedly conducted an illicit drug transaction in Newark’s North Ward.

According to authorities, the Essex County Sheriff’s Bureau of Narcotics began an investigation after receiving complaints about illegal drug activity around in the North Ward of Newark, NJ. Detectives were conducting surveillance at Parker Street and Park Avenue because the area is known by locals for being an open-air drug market.

Detectives reportedly saw a 35-year-old suspect who was loitering on Parker Street. Police then reportedly observe another suspect, a 46-year-old man from Newark, walked toward the suspect and talk to him. A short time later, the main suspect allegedly headed into an alley and retrieved an item that was hidden on the ground. The suspect then allegedly gave the item to the other suspect, who in turn handed over an unspecified amount of cash.

Essex County NJ police tracked the buyer as he left the scene and eventually detained him. A search of the suspect allegedly turned up four vials of crack cocaine. As a result, the suspect has been charged with cocaine possession.

When Newark NJ police searched the alleyway, they allegedly discovered a plastic bag that contained 40 more vials of crack cocaine. As a result, the alleged drug seller was charged with cocaine distribution. Additionally, he was charged with the sale of drugs near a school and the sale of illegal drugs near a public park.

After being placed under arrest, the alleged drug dealer was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.

The tragic homicide occurred in July 2015. According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the 17-year-old suspect fatally shot the 32-year-old victim while the victim walked his dog along Clinton Place in Newark, NJ.

Moreover, the suspect allegedly conspired with another individual, a 23-year-old male who resided in Newark NJ, to murder the victim. Prosecutors said that the suspect got the handgun used in the homicide from his co-conspirator.

The two co-suspects were allegedly walking on Clinton Place when they saw the victim. The group reportedly got into an altercation that caused one of the men to take a handgun from a backpack. The suspect allegedly used the gun to murder the victim.

A female was also reportedly injured in the shooting. She sustained a minor injury when a bullet grazed the side of her head.

During a subsequent investigation into the shooting, law enforcement found out that the victim of the homicide had been dating the suspect’s mother.

The suspect is charged with several crimes, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the murder charges, he would face significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is the most serious criminal offense in the NJ Criminal Code. A conviction on first degree murder charges could result in lifetime incarceration, with a minimum mandatory sentence of 30 years in New Jersey State Prison.
