East Orange NJ law enforcement recently made a major drug bust that resulted in the seizures of marijuana plants worth nearly $3 million.
The East Orange Police Department started the investigation into the alleged drug distribution operation after receiving a complaint about illegal activity at a residence on Springdale Avenue in East Orange, NJ.
When police raided the home during the morning, they allegedly found 1,470 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $2.95 million.
The suspects, a married couple, were arrested and charged with several drug crimes, including maintaining a drug production facility, distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, distribution of marijuana within 500 feet of a public park, and conspiracy.
A third suspect was also arrested. He faces charges for simple possession of marijuana because East Orange NJ police officers allegedly discovered a small amount of pot in a truck parked outside the main suspects’ house.
