Fairfield New Jersey law enforcement recently arrested a Hoboken man who allegedly attempted to sell heroin over the Internet.
The suspect, a 51-year-old resident of Hoboken NJ, reportedly went online and posted an advertisement on the Craigslist website. According to authorities, the Craigslist ad listed a small amount of heroin for sale for $60.
Fairfield Police Department detectives found out about the Craigslist ad and conducted an undercover sting operation with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) task force members. A Fairfield detective got in touch with the suspect and allegedly arranged to buy 50 glassine envelopes of heroin.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect later showed up at a location in Fairfield NJ with the intention of selling the heroin. Detectives arrested the suspect and searched his car. While searching the suspect’s automobile, police allegedly discovered 61 glassine envelopes of heroin.
The suspect now faces charges for multiple drug offenses, including possession with intent to distribute heroin.
