Newark New Jersey Drug BustA Newark NJ man faces significant penalties if he is convicted on federal criminal charges of distributing heroin and distributing cocaine in Essex County, New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, the suspect is connected to a drug trafficking ring with ties to Colombia. Federal authorities opened an investigation into the 52-year-old suspect after learning about his alleged role in the criminal organization.

Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) officials conducted surveillance outside the suspect’s Newark apartment and reportedly observed him selling illegal narcotics.

During a subsequent search of the suspect’s apartment, DEA officials allegedly discovered 55 pounds of heroin, 17 pounds of cocaine, a .38-caliber semi-automatic handgun, and more than $300,000 in cash.

The 52-year-old suspect is a resident of Newark, New Jersey. He was charged with a number of federal criminal offenses, including possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and a certain persons offense for being a convicted felon allegedly in possession of a firearm.
