Fairfield New Jersey police arrested a local woman accused of playing a vital role in a marijuana growing business that operated out of a local residence.
According to authorities, the suspect was among a group of individuals who operated a lucrative marijuana distribution business. The residence reportedly used for the illegal drug operation was located on Nell Court in Fairfield, NJ.
Fairfield NJ police officers happened to come across the marijuana operation when responding to a 911 call about a domestic dispute at the house. When law enforcement searched the residence, they allegedly discovered several marijuana plants and various drug packaging materials.
The 68-year-old female suspect who was placed under arrest is the third individual to be charged in connection with the alleged marijuana distribution business. She faces very serious criminal charges for drug offenses, including marijuana possession, maintaining or operating a drug facility, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. She was being held at the jail on a $250,000 bail amount.
