Assault Lawyer in Newark NJNewark, NJ police are trying to find the man allegedly responsible for a shooting in the South Ward.

The violent incident happened on Johnson Avenue, in the area of Malcolm X Shabazz High School, at around 8:00 p.m. Two Newark police officers were on patrol due to recent crimes in the neighborhood and heard gunshots.

The patrol cops ran toward the sounds of the gunfire and found the two victims, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, on the ground and suffering from shooting-related injuries. The victims were then taken to University Hospital for urgent medical care.

Meanwhile, Newark police chased after the getaway vehicle, an ATV, allegedly used by the shooter to get away.

The suspect was able to evade police after stopping the car in Hillside, NJ and running from the scene.

If police can eventually identify and capture the suspect, he would likely be charged with aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses.
