Newark, New Jersey police are trying to locate a man accused of committing arson in Newark and Elizabeth, NJ.
Authorities have not yet been able to determine the identity of the suspect. However, police have indicated that the suspect is a man. That’s because law enforcement obtained video surveillance images that show the suspect at the time of the arson incidents.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect intentionally started two fires in May 2017 at two spots in Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey. Detectives with both the Newark Police Department and the Elizabeth Police Department worked together on the investigation into the fires and concluded that the same individual was responsible for the two fires.
On June 25, 2017, the suspect reportedly set fire to trash heaps at four more locations in Newark, NJ.
Fortunately, no one suffered injuries due to the fires. However, the blazes reportedly caused property damage.
