Police officers recently arrested a Newark man who reportedly stabbed a person at Newark Airport.
The suspect, a 51-year-old Newark NJ resident, allegedly committed the violent crime at a building at Newark Liberty International Airport. According to authorities, the suspect got into a verbal altercation with the victim. Both men work at Newark Liberty Airport.
At some point, the verbal altercation escalated to a physical altercation and the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab the victim.
The victim, a 48-year-old Newark resident, was taken to Newark Beth Israel hospital and treated for his wounds. Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly fled the scene before police arrived.
Newark detectives did not have to look very far for the suspect: he reportedly showed up at the same Newark NJ hospital as the victim.
Police placed the suspect under arrest and subsequently search his car. That search allegedly turned up the knife used in the fight.
The suspect has been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
