Authorities recently arrested a “most wanted” suspect accused of shooting someone on a street in Newark, NJ.
The suspect is a 25-year-old resident of Newark, New Jersey. He allegedly used a firearm to shoot a 31-year-old man on South 7th Street in Newark’s West Ward.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect shot the victim and then ran from the scene.
A Newark NJ cop happened to be on patrol in the area and heard the gunshots. The police officer ran after the suspect, but he could not apprehend him.
The Newark Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a joint investigation into the shooting incident and eventually determined the suspect’s identity.
Members of both the Newark Police Department Fugitive Unit and the FBI Fugitive Task Force located the suspect in Newark NJ and placed him under arrest without incident.
The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault and weapons offenses like unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The suspect also faces criminal charges for cocaine possession because police allegedly found him with cocaine when they arrested him.
