Newark Aggravated Assault AttorneysPolice officers recently arrested an East Orange teen accused of committing a non-fatal shooting on a street in Newark, New Jersey.

The shooting reportedly happened just before 10:00 p.m. on January 29, 2017. According to law enforcement, a 25-year-old Newark NJ resident was walking on Clinton Avenue, near the intersection with Chadwick Avenue, when the teenage suspect approached and used a handgun to fire a gunshot at him.

After getting a report of the shooting, the Newark Police Department dispatched police officers and emergency responders to the area. The victim was treated for his wound at the scene before being transported to University Hospital. He was later listed in stable condition at the Newark NJ medical facility.

Detectives with the Newark Police Department conducted an investigation into the violent incident and identified the suspect as a 17-year-old East Orange boy. Now the shooting suspect is in police custody after police located and arrested him.

He has been charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
