Newark New Jersey law enforcement is still trying to find the person who allegedly burglarized a Newark church five years ago.
The suspect allegedly committed the property crime at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church on August 11, 2011. According to Essex County officials, the suspect broke into the church, which is located on Sanford Avenue in Newark NJ, and stole several items.
When Newark NJ police officers arrived at the church, they saw that a window had been broken. Investigators determined that the suspect was able to get inside the church by breaking the window.
Officials at the church spoke with Newark detectives and said that the burglar stole a number of expensive electronic items and religious items.
Police were eventually able to identify the burglary suspect as a 55-year-old Newark resident. It has now been revealed that an arrest warrant was issued in the case.
