A man suspected of committing a murder has now been accused of using a firearm to shoot at another person on a street in Newark, NJ.
The scary incident went down a short time after 11:00 p.m. near the intersection of 11th Avenue and South 18th Street in Newark, New Jersey. The victim, a 28-year-old Newark NJ man, was walking in the neighborhood when the suspect reportedly walked toward him and fired several gunshots.
The victim was later transported to nearby University Hospital, where emergency room doctors treated him for his injuries. The victim was subsequently listed in stable condition.
The suspect, an 18-year-old Newark male, was wanted in connection with the violent killing of a teenager a few weeks ago. The suspect allegedly shot and killed the 18-year-old victim on the 100 block of South 9th Street in Newark, New Jersey.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect, who has been described as armed and dangerous.
If law enforcement is eventually able to locate and capture the suspect, he would probably be charged with a host of crimes, including first degree murder, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon. A conviction on the most serious charges of murder could lead to the suspect being sentenced to life imprisonment in NJ State Prison.
