Newark NJ Shooting SuspectPolice are looking for a Newark New Jersey man who has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a shooting that resulted in critical injuries to one person.

The shooting occurred around 9:35 a.m. around the intersection of South 14th Street and 9th Avenue in Newark, NJ. Newark police got an alert of gunshots fired in the area and dispatched cops to the scene. When Newark NJ cops arrived at the scene, they came across the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

According to law enforcement, the victim was shot as he tried to work on a ladder. He was later taken to University Hospital in Newark NJ, where doctors provided medical treatment for his injuries. Hospital officials later said that the shooting victim had been listed in critical condition.

Essex County Prosecutor’s Office detectives investigated the shooting and eventually identified the shooter as a 43-year-old man from Newark, NJ.

The suspect is still at large, but he has already been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. If the suspect is convicted on either criminal charge, he would be subject to significant penalties that include a lengthy term of incarceration in New Jersey State Prison.
