Nutley New Jersey police recently arrested one adult and one juvenile accused of committing several car burglaries.
The suspects allegedly committed the burglary spree during a single weekend. Police were able to capture the suspects around 6:40 a.m. om Monday when a couple of Nutley NJ cops spotted the suspects in the area of Vreeland Avenue and Hillside Avenue in Nutley, New Jersey. Local residents previously dialed 911 and alerted police to the presence of the suspects on the street.
When Nutley New Jersey law enforcement got to the scene, they reportedly encountered the suspects moving away from a parked vehicle that had been broken into. Police subsequently searched the suspects and allegedly found multiple items that had been gone missing from cars in the area.
Nutley NJ detectives investigated the car burglaries and spoke with the suspects. The detectives reportedly learned that the suspects were behind at least 18 different car burglaries in Nutley, Bloomfield, East Rutherford, and North Arlington.
The adult suspect is a 19-year-old male who lives in Passaic, New Jersey. The juvenile suspect is a 16-year-old who resides in Elmwood Park, NJ.
The suspects face several criminal charges, including burglary and theft of movable property.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the adult suspect was transported to the Essex County Jail in Newark, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail on a $50K bail amount. Meanwhile, the juvenile suspect was moved to the Essex County youth facility.
