Newark New Jersey police recently located and arrested a man who was allegedly responsible for a non-fatal shooting incident on a city street.
The suspect allegedly used a handgun to commit the shooting on April 14, 2016. The Newark Police Department got a call about the shooting and dispatched officers to the area. However, by the time Newark police arrived at the scene, the person responsible for the shooting was long gone.
The victim in the shooting was rushed to a local hospital, where he received medical treatment for his gunshot-related wounds.
In the days and weeks that followed, Newark NJ detectives with the Cease Fire Shooting Response Team conducted a thorough investigation and eventually identified the suspect as the person who probably committed the non-fatal shooting.
Newark NJ police eventually found the suspect at a home on Shepard Avenue and placed him under arrest.
While the charges remain pending, the Newark Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone who has information about the suspect is encouraged to place a call to the Newark Police Department Crime Stoppers tip line at 877-NWK-TIPS or 877-NWK-GUNS.
