Newark New Jersey Handgun LawyersNewark New Jersey police are investigating a recent shooting incident that left two teenage boys with serious gunshot injuries.

The shooting happened around 1:00 a.m. According to Newark authorities, the victims were walking in the area of the intersection of Avon Avenue and Somerset Street in Newark NJ when they got into a dispute with someone else. At some point, the verbal altercation turned violent and the suspect allegedly used a handgun to shoot the victims.

Newark NJ police received a call about gunshots being fired and immediately dispatched officers to the scene.

Emergency medical responders treated the victims and then transported them to University Hospital, which is located nearby.

Newark officials later identified the victims as a 17-year-old Newark NJ resident and a 16-year-old Newark resident.

Doctors at the Newark NJ hospital were able to stabilize the victims. Although one of the victims is still listed in critical condition, both victims are expected to survive their gunshot-related injuries

The Newark Police Department Cease Fire Shooting Unit is currently investigating the shooting incident. Newark detectives have yet to figure out the identity of the person who shot the victims.
If law enforcement is able to identify the shooter, he would probably face serious criminal charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, in addition to related weapons offenses.
