Newark New Jersey police recently arrested a Pennsylvania man accused of firing a handgun into a car on a street in Newark, NJ.
According to law enforcement, the frightening incident went down just after 2:00 a.m. on the 500 block of South 18th Street in Newark, New Jersey. The suspect allegedly aimed a handgun into a motor vehicle and fired at least one gunshot before the car drove off.
Thankfully, nobody inside the car was injured.
Newark NJ police got a call about gunshots being heard and send police officers to the scene. When patrol officers arrived in the area, they quickly located the suspect and placed him under arrest.
Police also found several juveniles who were on Newark streets after curfew. The minors were detained and then later released into the custody of their adult guardians.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old suspect in the shooting has been charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault, illegal possession of a handgun, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.
