A Newark, NJ man is headed to federal prison on charges for attempting to have sex with a juvenile.
The suspect is a 45-year-old resident of Newark in Essex County, New Jersey. In 1993, the suspect was ordered to serve 15 years behinds bars in New Jersey State Prison on aggravated sexual assault charges.
After the suspect completed his sentence and secured his release from prison, he was required to register as a offender under Megan’s Law.
In 2015, the suspect used the Internet to lure what he thought was a 13-year-old girl. However, the suspect did not realize that the “girl” was an adult informant for the FBI.
When the suspect arrived at Metro North Station in Harriman, NY to meet the minor, he was arrest.
Now the suspect has been officially sentenced to a term of incarceration of 21 years in a federal penitentiary.
