Newark New Jersey police recently arrested a local man who allegedly used a handgun to threaten a woman during an altercation.
The suspect is a 23-year-old male who resides in Newark, NJ. According to law enforcement, the suspect got into a verbal dispute with the female victim somewhere in Newark, New Jersey. The altercation reportedly went from verbal to physical, with the suspect allegedly brandishing a handgun and threatening the victim.
Afterwards, the victim contacted the Newark Police Department and alerted police to the situation. Newark NJ detectives subsequently investigated the violent incident and secured an arrest warrant in the case.
Members of the Newark Police Division Fugitive Apprehension Team later found the suspect in Newark and arrested him. He has been charged with multiple crimes, including aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Additionally, the suspect has been charged with gun crimes for unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, NJ.
