Newark NJ Weapons ChargesNewark police recently arrested two adults and one minor for weapons offenses in separate incidents. One of the adult suspects was also reportedly wanted by police in connection with a violent shooting incident.

The shooting reportedly happened on the 100 block of Morton Street in Newark, NJ. The Newark Police Department sent police officers to the scene after getting a report of gunshots fired. When cops arrived in the area, they saw property damage that had been caused by gunfire.

Newark detectives investigated the incident and identified the suspect as a 20-year-old Newark NJ resident. Police officers then found the suspect on 14th Avenue and arrested him.

The shooting suspect faces numerous criminal charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Newark law enforcement also arrested a 37-year-old male who allegedly illegally possessed a rifle. Police officers were sent to the suspect’s home on the 100 block of Court Street after receiving a 911 call about a domestic violence incident. When cops got to the residence, they spoke to a 35-year-old male who said that the suspect assaulted him and damaged a vehicle.

Police got permission to conduct a search of the residence and allegedly found a loaded rifle, as well as 121 rounds of ammunition.

The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including simple assault, terroristic threats, and criminal mischief. Additionally, the suspect reportedly faces very serious criminal charges for a certain persons offense for allegedly possessing a weapon while prohibited.

Newark NJ police officers made a third arrest the same week. Police apprehended a 16-year-old Newark teen accused of walking around Quitman Street and West Kinney Street with a loaded handgun.

When Newark NJ officers searched the juvenile suspect, they allegedly found carrying a .40-caliber firearm.

Anthony Ambrose, the Newark public safety director, issued a statement about the arrests. He did not state whether the teenage suspect is going to be charged with juvenile offenses.
