Newark NJ police officers recently apprehended a local man accused of committing an armed robbery and stealing an Xbox.
The suspect is a 22-year-old man who lives in Newark, New Jersey. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect pretended to be interested in buying the Xbox and set up a meeting with the sellers a short time before 9:30 p.m. on May 19, 2017.
When the victims, a male and a female, showed up at the prearranged location on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Newark NJ, the suspect reportedly brandished a handgun and threatened to shoot the victims. The suspect then allegedly stole the video game console and fled the area.
Newark detectives investigated the theft incident and identified the suspect as the possible culprit. Police later located the suspect on South 19th Street in Newark and arrested him.
The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including armed robbery and resisting arrest.
