Newark Weapons Offense LawyersLaw enforcement is currently investigating a shooting incident involving Newark cops.

The shooting happened a short time after 1:00 a.m. near the intersection of South Orange Avenue and South 16th Street in Newark, NJ. The Newark Police Department received a report of a disturbance in the area and dispatched cops to the scene.

Newark authorities have not stated precisely what happened once the police officers arrived at the scene and began to look into the matter. What is known at this time is that at least two of the officers used their firearms and fired gunshots at a suspect who may have been brandishing a weapon.

Fortunately, no police officers or civilians were injured during the police shooting incident.

Anytime a Newark cop discharges their weapon, whether in the line of duty or off duty, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Professional Standards Bureau conducts an investigation.
