Police officers are searching for four men who allegedly robbed several gas stations in Essex County, NJ.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects robbed three Newark NJ gas stations, one Belleville gas station, and one Orange NJ gas station. Remarkably, all of the theft crimes were committed in just one day.
Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Monday, the four suspects allegedly started their robbery spree at a gas station on Sanford Avenue in Newark’s Valisburg section. The robbers reportedly wore dark clothing and masks to cover their faces.
Roughly half an hour later, the suspects allegedly robbed two more gas stations also located in Newark, NJ. According to a gas station attendant, the suspects drove off in a gray Lexus with rear-end damage and Florida license plates.
Later on Monday, the suspects also may have robbed gas stations located in Belleville and Orange, New Jersey.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are working together to investigate the gas station robberies, including the Newark Police Department, the Belleville Police Department, and the Orange Police Department.
