East Orange, NJ police are investigating the death of a local man. Authorities allege that the victim was stabbed by his mother during a violent dispute.
The victim, a 21-year-old resident of East Orange, reportedly got into a verbal argument with his 37-year-old mom shortly after 1:00 a.m. at a home located on the 100 block of Park Avenue. At some point, the verbal dispute turned physical and the suspect allegedly used a knife to fatally stab the victim.
East Orange cops and paramedics were called to the scene, but were unable to save the stabbing victim’s life.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with numerous crimes, including reckless manslaughter and unlawful possession of a weapon. The suspect also faces domestic violence charges due to her relationship to the victim.
If the suspect is convicted of homicide, she could potentially be sentenced to years behind bars in state prison.
After being arrested, the suspect was moved to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey.
