A Newark, NJ man was recently arrested and charged with the armed robbery of a local grocery store.
The suspect is a 23-year-old man from Newark in Essex County, NJ. According to law enforcement, the suspect was one of three men who robbed the La Mina De Oro Grocery on Oriental Street in Newark, New Jersey. The suspect allegedly brandished a handgun and held up a store clerk before fleeing the area on foot.
Newark detectives investigated the robbery and identified one of the men – the 23-year-old Newark, NJ resident – and placed him under arrest. When police found the suspect, he was allegedly carrying 23 packets of heroin and 31 vials of cocaine.
The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, heroin possession, and cocaine possession.
Newark police are still trying to find the other two men accused of committing the grocery store robbery.
