Police in Newark NJ are investigating a shooting that resulted in two brothers being killed.
The fatal shooting happened in the Ironbound area of Newark in Essex County, NJ.
The victims, a 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, were brothers who lived in Newark, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the brothers got into an argument with someone else – and that argument ended tragically.
Newark police were called to the area of Adam Street and Walnut Street in response to a report of gunshots being fired. When police got to the scene, they found the victims.
Paramedics transported the victims to University Hospital, but doctors were unable to save their lives.
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose stated that this recent shooting may have occurred due to the suspect having “easy access to firearms.” Ambrose observed that this has been a major problem in many Newark shootings this year.
If Newark detectives can capture the person responsible for the shooting, he could be charged with first degree murder and weapons offenses.
