Irvington New Jersey police and Essex County detectives are trying to identify two men who have been identified as “persons of interest” in a recent homicide.
The victim was a 42-year-old man from Irvington, New Jersey. He was shot and killed while walking down the 400 block of Grove Street in Irvington NJ on May 27. According to Essex County law enforcement officials, the victim sustained at least one gunshot wound in the fatal shooting.
Detectives with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office have been investigating the killing since May 27 and are still attempting to determine who was responsible for the murder.
Essex County NJ authorities recently released video surveillance images that show two men walking in the area of Grove Street and Breckenridge Terrace in Irvington NJ not long after the fatal shooting. The victim was killed approximately one-half mile away.
Anyone who has information about the Irvington NJ shooting or the two persons of interest in the homicide should get in touch with investigators.
If police eventually identify and capture the person responsible for the homicide, that person could face very serious criminal charges for first degree murder and weapons offenses.
