A man who allegedly kidnapped his kids during a supervised custody visit in Newark New Jersey was recently located by authorities.
The suspect, a 30-year-old man who is believed to be homeless, reportedly had a visit with his two children at the New Jersey Family Court Complex in the Wilentz Justice Complex on Washington Street in Newark, NJ.
A Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) employee was present at the visit between the suspect and his children, a five-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl, because the visit had to be supervised.
When the DCP&P worker stepped out of the room, the suspect reportedly left with his children.
Law enforcement eventually found the suspect and the victims. Fortunately, the children were not harmed.
The suspect was arrested and could face criminal charges in connection with the alleged abduction. Additionally, he will likely be subject to an investigation by DCP&P.
