Bloomfield New Jersey police are investigating a recent vehicle theft from a local home.
The car theft happened around 5:30 p.m. According to authorities, at least one person stole a Range Rover parked in the driveway of a house in Bloomfield, NJ. The owner of the SUV was at the NJ Bloomfield home to visit her mom.
The vehicle owner left two dogs, a one-year-old Labrador and an eight-year-old bulldog, inside the SUV when it was stolen.
The victim contacted the Bloomfield Police Department, which subsequently alerted police departments in other Essex County NJ towns.
Within a few hours, Newark patrol officers found the stolen Range Rover. However, the dogs were gone.
The following day, the dogs were returned to the victim.
Bloomfield law enforcement continues to investigate the theft crime incident and look for suspects.
