Fairfield NJ Shoplifting SuspectFairfield NJ law enforcement recently arrested a Teaneck NJ man who allegedly shoplifted a video game console from a Target store.

The suspect reportedly committed the theft crime just after 6:05 p.m. at the Target located on Route 46 East in Fairfield, New Jersey. According to officials, the suspect walked around the store for a short time before snatching a PlayStation 4 gaming system from a shelf. The stolen video game console is said to have a retail value of $250.

Security guards at the store alerted the Fairfield Police Department, which sent cops to the scene. The police officers caught the suspect as he was standing outside the store and placed him in handcuffs.

Before police could put the suspect into a patrol car, however, he allegedly ran off and fled the scene. Police officers subsequently canvassed the surrounding area and found the suspect on Route 46. The suspect was taken into custody in the lot behind an Ashley Furniture Store.

The suspect, a 28-year-old Teaneck NJ man, has been charged with theft of movable property. The suspect may also face criminal charges for resisting arrest.
