Newark NJ Carjacking LawyersHillside New Jersey police recently arrested a teen accused of carjacking a woman and then crashing the stolen vehicle during a high-speed pursuit in Newark, NJ.

The theft incident reportedly occurred a short time before 8:00 a.m. on Friday. According to law enforcement, the 15-year-old suspect approached a woman in the driveway of her home, which is located on Wolf Place in Hillside, NJ. He allegedly pointed a handgun at her, shouted “give me, give me, give me,” and grabbed her car keys. He then allegedly got into the woman’s SUV and fled the area.

Later that same day, the suspect reportedly stopped in Newark and picked up two other teen males. Meanwhile, Hillside detectives investigated the carjacking and tried to locate the stolen SUV.

Around 1:40 p.m., two Hillside detectives saw the stolen vehicle. The suspect allegedly refused to pull over, prompting the Hillside NJ cops to pursue him as he drove into Newark, New Jersey. The pursuit ended when the suspect reportedly crashed the SUV into an Audi at the intersection of Bergen Street and Pomona Avenue in Newark.

A woman driving the Audi was seriously injured in the car crash, while her infant child was unhurt.

The suspect, a 15-year-old boy from Irvington, was placed under arrest and charged with several crimes, including carjacking and unlawful possession of a weapon.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was taken to the Union County Juvenile Detention Center in Linden, New Jersey.
