Essex County authorities are looking for a Newark NJ man who allegedly murdered a person near a go-go bar in February 2015.
According to officials, the 30-year-old suspect fatally shot the 23-year-old victim outside 21 Foxes Go-Go, a strip club on Passaic Street in Newark, NJ. The victim was from East Orange, New Jersey.
Law enforcement believes that the homicide stemmed from a botched robbery attempt.
After being shot, the victim was transported to nearby University Hospital. Tragically, doctors could not save the victim; he was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
Authorities issued an arrest warrant for the suspect one month after the killing. Since that time, however, police have been unable to find the suspect.
Now police are reaching out to the public in the hopes of catching a break in tracking down the murder suspect. The Essex Sheriff’s Office is offering a $5,000 cash reward to anyone who provides information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
Authorities released information that the suspect sometimes goes by the nickname “Yum Yum” and often frequents the Broadway Townhouses in Newark.
Anyone who has information about the suspect or his whereabouts should reach out to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force tip line at 877-847-7432.
